Tax obligations while living abroad

Living outside Spain does not exempt you from Spanish tax obligations if you own real estate, earn income, or hold investments in Spain. We manage your tax compliance remotely from start to finish.

Authorizations and representation

To act before public authorities we need an electronic authorization or power of attorney, which can be granted online or through consular offices. We explain the simplest method during our initial consultation.

What we need from you

  • Copy of your identification document and NIE.
  • Information on your Spanish income and assets (rental contracts, property deeds, bank accounts, business assets).
  • Certificates and payment receipts for each fiscal year, in digital format.

After an initial case evaluation, we send you a precise document checklist without asking for irrelevant paperwork.

Resident vs. non-resident: the distinction matters

Living abroad does not automatically make you a non-resident for tax purposes. Tax residency is determined by factors such as days spent in Spain during the calendar year and the primary center of your vital or economic interests. We evaluate your situation to apply the correct tax framework: Personal Income Tax (IRPF) or Non-Resident Income Tax (IRNR).

What we take care of

Beyond filing tax returns, we receive and respond to communications from the Spanish Tax Agency, monitor statutory deadlines, and proactively inform you of any regulatory changes impacting your assets.
