Loss of access to electronic administration

When a digital certificate expires, it becomes permanently invalid: you can no longer access electronic public portals, sign tax returns, or view administrative notifications. An expired certificate cannot be renewed online: an entirely new certificate must be requested, including full identity verification.

What happens if tax deadlines are pending

If tax or legal deadlines are open while your certificate has expired, you can grant authorization to our office so we can file submissions and receive notifications on your behalf under our professional credentials.

Renewal window

Most certifying authorities (such as FNMT) allow online renewal without in-person appearance if initiated within approximately 60 days before the expiration date. Once it expires, that renewal route is closed.

How we prevent access interruption

We record the expiration date of your certificate, alert you well in advance, and manage the online renewal process. We also assist with generating secure backup copies (PFX/P12 files) so you do not lose it when updating computers or browsers.
